Maroons Post 1-3 Mark
at North Central Invite
NAPERVILLE, Ill. --
Sophomore middle hitter Koryn Kendall (Napa, Calif./ Vintage) earned
all-tournament team honors as the University of Chicago volleyball team
dropped three of four matches at North Central College on Friday and Saturday.
In the four contests,
Kendall averaged 1.19 blocks and 2.62 kills per game while recording a
.333 hitting percentage.
Chicago now stands
at 12-18 on the season.

Senior right side hitter Erica Pettke (Sussex, Wis./ Divine
Savior Holy Angels) hit 13 kills, and sophomore outside hitter Allison
Mell (Bartlett, Tenn./ Briarcrest Christian) contributed 10 as the
Maroons fell in the tournament opener.

Kendall collected 11 kills and hit .370 in a four-game loss to
the 23-6 Green Knights. Kendall and freshman middle hitter Katie Volzer
(North Canton, Ohio/ Lake) each had three blocks.

Senior outside hitter Katie Meinhover (Ottertail, Minn./ Perham)
led the Maroons with 10 kills against the seventh-ranked Titans. Pettke
added nine kills with a .318 hitting percentage.

Junior setter Nikki Sindy (Granger, Ind./ Penn) registered
61 assists -- one shy of the school record -- as Chicago finished the
tournament with a five-game victory over the host Cardinals. Kendall and
Volzer hit 17 and 15 kills, respectively, and each collected four blocks.
