Maroons Sweep Rockford in Home Opener

Chicago -- Sophomore middle hitter Koryn Kendall (Napa, Calif./ Vintage) collected 13 kills and five blocks as the University of Chicago volleyball team defeated Rockford College 31-29, 30-22, 30-24 in the Maroons' 2005 home opener Tuesday at the Ratner Athletics Center.

Kendall recorded a .524 hitting percentage to lead Chicago (4-6) to its second win in its last three outings.

Senior right side hitter Erica Pettke (Sussex, Wis./ Divine Savior Holy Angels) hit 11 kills, while junior setter Nikki Sindy (Granger, Ind./ Penn) was credited with 39 assists.
