Maroons Drop Three at UAA Round Robin

Cleveland, Ohio -- The University of Chicago volleyball team went 0-3 at the University Athletic Association Round Robin Saturday and Sunday at Case Western Reserve University.

Chicago (7-14 overall, 0-3 UAA) dropped three-game matches to third-ranked Emory University and top-ranked Washington (Mo.) University and fell to Carnegie Mellon University in a four-game contest.

#3 Emory def. Chicago 30-12, 30-13, 30-21
Sophomore middle hitter Koryn Kendall (Napa, Calif./ Vintage) and freshman outside hitter Katie Volzer (North Canton, Ohio/ Lake) each hit a team-high seven kills to go along with respective hitting percentages of .545 and .375.

#1 Washington def Chicago 30-8, 30-13, 32-30
Freshmen outside hitter Katie Given (Atherton, Calif./ Castilleja School) and Ashleigh Eveland (Hebron, Ind./ Boone Grove) led the Maroons with four kills.

Carnegie Mellon def Chicago 25-30, 30-24, 30-22, 30-22
Kendall hit 10 kills with a .562 attack percentage and collected four blocks as the Maroons fell in four games.
