January 7, 2006 MOUNT VERNON, Iowa -- Led by junior Mike Bishof's (Oak Brook, Ill./ York) third-place performance, the University of Chicago wrestling team finished ninth among 17 teams at the Cornell (Iowa) College Matman Invitational on Saturday. Bishof won four of five bouts at 165 pounds en route to his third-place showing. Junior Andrew Bribriesco (Bettendorf, Iowa/ Bettendorf) and freshman Jeff Harman (Boulder, Colo./ Boulder) gained sixth-place finishes at 141 and 149 pounds, respectively, with 4-2 records on the day. Host Cornell won the event with 100.5 team points, finishing ahead of St. John's (Minn.) University with 100.0 and William Penn College with 98.0. The Maroons totaled 52.0 points. |
