Maroons Fall in Season Opener

WHITEWATER, Wis. -- The University of Chicago wrestling team opened its 2005-06 campaign Wednedsday night with a 22-12 loss at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.

Three Maroons posted wins. Freshman Lance Contento (Tuscon, Ariz./ Catalina Foothills) registered the only pin of the match at 174 pounds, while junior Mike Bishof (Oak Brook, Ill./ York) and freshman Spencer Burns (Cimarron, Kan./ Cimarron) earned decisions at 165 and 157 pounds, respectively.
