November 13, 2005 CHICAGO -- Senior forward Renee Neuner (Haslett, Mich./ Haslett) scored a pair of second half goals as the University of Chicago defeated Loras College 3-0 in the second round of the 2005 NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship Sunday at Stagg Field. Senior midfielder Monica Michelotti (Los Alamos, N.M./ Los Alamos) scored the game's first goal at the 15:30 mark. The score remained 1-0 until midway through the second half when Neuner tallied twice in a one-minute span. She scored her 16th and 17th goals of the season at 64:45 and 65:45, respectively. Senior midfielder Jacqui DeLeon (Mission Viejo, Calif./ Trabuco Hills) assisted on both goals. Freshman midfielder Siggy Nachtergaele (Davis, Calif./ Davis) collected an assist on Neuner's first goal. Senior goalkeeper Andrea Przybysz (Troy, Mich./ Athens) made two saves to post the shutout, her ninth of the year. With the victory, Chicago (16-2-2) advances to the national round of 16 to be held next weekend at a site to be announced on Monday, Nov. 14. Loras ended its season with a record of 18-4. |
