November 7, 2005 CHICAGO -- The University of Chicago women's soccer team has received a bid to participate in the 2005 NCAA Division III Championship tournament and has been designated to host first and second round matches at Stagg Field on Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 12-13. Chicago (14-2-2) will face Aurora University (15-6-1) Saturday at 11:00 a.m. Illinois Wesleyan University (13-6-1) will take on Loras College (17-3) in Saturday's second game scheduled for 1:30 p.m., or 30 minutes after the conclusion of the previous match. The winners will play Sunday at 1:00 p.m. for the opportunity to advance to the national sectionals the following weekend. Tickets will be available at the gate one hour prior to game time each day. Tickets good for both games on Saturday will be priced at $10 for adults and $5 for students and seniors, with tickets for Sunday's championship match available at $6 for adults and $3 for students and seniors. University of Chicago students presenting a valid ID will be admitted at no charge; the cost of the Chicago student tickets will be absorbed by the Department of Athletics. An at-large selection to this year's 60-team NCAA Division III Championship, Chicago makes its eighth postseason appearance under Head Coach Amy Reifert and its fourth in as many years. The Maroons have made two national semifinal appearances, including a national runner-up finish in 2003. |
