November 19, 2005 CHICAGO -- Senior Renee Neuner (Haslett, Mich./ Haslett) scored the only goal of the match in the final minute of the first overtime period to give the University of Chicago a 1-0 win over the University of Puget Sound Saturday at Stagg Field and a berth in the 2005 NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship semifinals. Neuner tallied her 18th goal of the year off an assist from freshman midfielder Siggy Nachtergaele (Davis, Calif./ Davis) at the 99:53 mark as Chicago (18-2-2) earned its second national semifinal appearance in the past three years. Senior Andrea Przybysz (Troy, Mich./ Athens) made two saves to post the shutout. Puget Sound (18-2-2) netminder Erin Williams stopped four shots. Chicago outshot the Loggers by a 13-5 margin. |
