November 5, 2005 CHICAGO -- Freshman midfielder Olivia Ndyabagye (Albuquerque, N.M./ Sandia) and senior midfielder Jacqui DeLeon (Mission Viejo, Calif./ Trabuco Hills) scored the first two goals of the match as the 13th-ranked University of Chicago women's soccer team defeated Washington (Mo.) University 2-1 in University Athletic Association play Saturday at Stagg Field. Ndyabagye tallied her fourth goal of the year at the 31:38 mark for the only scoring of the first half. DeLeon scored her third of the season at 59:03 to give Chicago (14-2-2 overall, 5-2 UAA) a 2-0 lead. Talia Bucci scored for Washington (11-7-1, 3-4) at 78:56. Senior netminder Andrea Przybysz (Troy, Mich./ Athens) made six saves for the Maroons, who ended the regular season with a six-game winning streak and nine-game unbeaten stretch (9-0-1). Chicago is in contention for an at-large berth to the 2005 NCAA Division III Championship. The NCAA will announced the bids and pairings on Monday, Nov. 7. |
