January 14, 2006 CHICAGO -- The University of Chicago women's swimming & diving team finished in second place at the seven-team Chicago Invitational Friday and Saturday at the Myers-McLoraine Pool. Junior Katherine Yang (Palo Alto, Calif./ Gunn) finished second in the 1,650-yard freestyle (18:36.96) and took third in the 500-yard freestyle (5:27.40). Freshman Sarah Laws (Eagleville, Pa./ Methacton) placed third in both the 50- and 100-yard freestyle with respective times of 25.62 and 56.10 seconds. Freshman Rachel Zarnke (Rockford, Ill./ Boylan) earned a third-place finish in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:24.58. |
