January 28, 2006 GREENCASTLE, Ind. -- The University of Chicago women's swimming and diving team fell to DePauw University 175-117 in dual meet competition on Saturday afternoon. Two swimmers and one diver posted first-place finishes for the Maroons. Junior Katherine Yang (Palo Alto, Calif./ Gunn) and freshman Rachel Zarnke (Rockford, Ill./ Boylan) took top honors in the 1000-yard freestyle (11:10.23) and 100-yard butterfly (1:03.84), respectively. Junior Ashley Bourne (Sudbury, Mass./ Lexington) won the three-meter diving competition with a score of 179.50. Chicago concluded the dual meet portion of its 2005-06 schedule with a 2-7 record. |
