October 22, 2005 CHICAGO -- The University of Chicago women's swimming & diving team opened its 2005-06 season with a 133-96 setback at the Illinois Institute of Technology on Saturday afternoon. Freshman Whitney Biber (Zionsville, Ind./ Zionsville) was the Maroons' lone event winner, as she finished first in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:10.72. She was also the runner-up in the 200-yard freestyle (2:09.86). Freshman Rachel Zarnke (Rockford, Ill./ Boylan) posted second-place finishes in the 100-yard butterfly (1:07.24) and 200-yard individual medley (2:31.47). |
