Maroons Open Season at ITA Regional

Springfield, Ohio -- Junior Ade Omodele-Lucien (Pebble Beach, Calif./ Stevenson) reached the quarterfinal round in singles and doubles competition as the University of Chicago women's tennis team opened its 2005-06 campaign at the ITA Central Regional Singles and Doubles Championships at Wittenberg University.

Omodele-Lucien went 3-1 in singles play and posted a 2-1 mark with freshman partner Vindya Dayananda (Kathmandu, Nepal/ Lincoln School) in doubles en route to the quarterfinals. Dayananda also recorded a 2-1 mark in singles action.

Freshmen Jackie Colvin (Chapel Hill, N.C./ East Chapel Hill) and Anuja Parikh (Bombay, India) each won three of four singles matches and combined to win two of three doubles contests.

Seniors Katie Dulmage (Algonquin, Ill./ (Jacobs) and Annie Miller (Wynnewood, Pa./ Lower Merion) advanced to the consolation semifinals in the doubles competition, winning four of six matches.

In all, Chicago players won 15 of 22 singles matches and eight of 12 doubles contests.
