Chicago Takes One of Three at Kenyon

GAMBIER, Ohio -- The University of Chicago women's tennis team finished 1-2 against regionally- and nationally-ranked opponents Saturday and Sunday at Kenyon College.

The Maroons opened the weekend with a 5-4 loss to 12th-ranked Carnegie Mellon University on Saturday. Senior Annie Miller (Wynnewood, Pa./ Lower Merion) won at third singles and second doubles.

On Sunday, Chicago (#9 Central Region) dropped a 5-2 decision to 14th-ranked Denison University (#3 Central Region) before toppling Kenyon (#11 Central Region) 5-4.

Freshman Vindya Dayananda (Kathmandu, Nepal/ Lincoln School) won at first singles, and Miller posted a victory at fourth singles in the loss to Denison.

Miller notched her third singles win of the weekend at the third position against Kenyon. Freshman Jackie Colvin (Chapel Hill, N.C./ East Chapel Hill) and senior Katie Dulmage (Algonquin, Ill./ Jacobs) won at fifth and sixth singles, respectively.

Chicago now stands at 1-3 in dual match play.
