January 21, 2006 CHICAGO -- The University of Chicago women's indoor track & field team finished in fifth place at the Chicago Invitational Saturday at the Henry Crown Field House. Senior Jessica Winter (Wheaton, Ill./ Wheaton-Warrenville South) won the 3,000-meter run with the second-fastest time in school history, 10:13.27. Freshman Olivia Ndyabagye (Albuquerque, N.M./ Sandia) took top honors in the long jump (5.26 m) and placed fourth in the 200-meter dash (27.49 seconds) and fifth in the 55-meter dash (7.68 seconds). Hirve (Burke, Va./ Jefferson Science & Math) and Myra Collins
(Converse, Texas/ Antonian) finished second and third, respectively,
in the triple jump (11.08 m) and long jump (5.17 m). |
