Maroons Split Twinbill
CHICAGO -- The University of Chicago baseball team split a doubleheader against Rockford College Sunday at J. Kyle Anderson Field, taking the first game 1-0 before falling 7-0 in the nightcap.
In game one, junior pitcher Dominik Meyer (River Forest, Ill./ Oak Park-River Forest) notched his second shutout of the season in the Maroons' 1-0 victory.
Meyer (3-2), who posted his third complete game in five starts, allowed just four hits and three walks while fanning six. With the seven scoreless frames, he lowered his season ERA to 0.85.

Senior third baseman Allen Cooper (Newburyport, Mass./ Governor Dummer) led off with a double, advanced to third on a passed ball, and scored on a base hit off the bat of junior center fielder Nathan Ginsberg (Dobbs Ferry, N.Y./ Dobbs Ferry).
Four Rockford hurlers combined on a one-hitter in game two. Senior second baseman Tony Zitek (Tampa, Fla./ Plant) provided the Maroons' (8-9) only hit with a one-out single in the fourth inning.
Shane Dascher led the Regents' (10-9) attack, as he went 2-for-3 with three RBIs and a run scored.
