Nate Hainje Named All-Region
CHICAGO -- University of Chicago junior Nate Hainje (Brownsburg, Ind./ Brownsburg) was today named to the D3hoops.com All-Midwest Region Men's Basketball Team.
A third team selection, Hainje averaged 13.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game. He shot 47.1% from the field, including a 38.7% clip (48-of-124) from three-point range, and connected on 71.8% of his free throw attempts.
Hainje tallied double digits in 21 of 26 games and pulled down 10 or more boards on three occasions.
Hainje, who earned All-University Athletic Association first team recognition earlier this month, became the first Maroon to lead his team in rebounding and assists in the same season since assists were officially recorded at Chicago beginning in 1986-87.
The 2007 UAA co-champion, Chicago received an at-large berth to the NCAA Division III tournament and finished the season with a 20-6 overall record.
