Chicago Receives NCAA Postseason Bid;
Maroons Travel to Aurora for Four-Team Regional
CHICAGO -- The University of Chicago men's basketball team has received an at-large bid to the 2007 NCAA Division III Championship. The Maroons will face Hope College in opening-round play Friday, March 2, at Aurora University.
Chicago (20-5) and Hope (23-4) will meet in the first of two regional semifinal contests Friday at 6:00 p.m. In the second game, the host Spartans (25-2) will take on Calvin College (18-9) at approximately 8:00 p.m.
Friday's winners will battle for the regional title and a spot in the national round-of-sixteen Saturday, March 3 at 7:00 p.m.
Tickets for Friday's game priced at $4 for University of Chicago students and $7 for adults ($4 for seniors) will be available for purchase in the Ratner Athletics Center lobby Wednesday and Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
To purchase tickets - limited at four per person (cash only) -- individuals must present a valid University of Chicago Card.
A limited number of bus passes -- sold on a first-come, first-serve basis -- will also be available for $5 in the Ratner Center lobby Wednesday and Thursday. A bus to Friday's game will depart the Ratner Center Friday at 3:00 p.m.
