September 9, 2006 DECORAH, Iowa -- Sophomore Jon Ascolese (Loveland, Ohio/ Loveland) and senior Brian Hague (Chicago, Ill./ Brother Rice) placed among the top 10 finishers as the 18th-ranked University of Chicago men's cross country team finished in third place at the seven-team Luther College All-American Invitational on Saturday afternoon. Ascolese and Hague finished fifth and seventh, respectively, with times of 20:45 and 20:50 on the four-mile course. Iowa Central College's Hillary Samoei led the 148-runner field with a time of 20:23. The eighth-ranked University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse won the meet with 39 points, while 28th-ranked Augustana (Ill.) College and Chicago were next with 52 and 73 points, respectively. |
