Maroons Defeat Beloit 2-0
BELOIT, Wis. -- Senior goalkeeper Keith Crum (Holland, Pa./ Council Rock South) posted his school record 21st career shutout as the University of Chicago men's soccer team defeated host Beloit College 2-0 on Tuesday night.
Crum, who surpassed David Collar (1996-99) on the Chicago all-time shutouts chart, collected two saves as the Maroons (7-3-1) won their second straight match and sixth in their last seven outings. The shutout was Crum's fourth of the season.
Junior forward Andrew Hamilton (Springfield, Ill./ Sacred Heart-Griffin) scored the first goal of the contest -- his third of the year -- at the 14:09 mark.
Freshman forward Alex Takakuwa (Davis, Calif./ Davis) tallied his third goal of the year at 58:10.
Chicago outshot Beloit (5-2-1) 9-2 and posted a 6-1 edge in corner kicks.
