Chicago Falls to Carnegie Mellon in UAA Debut
CHICAGO -- Jonathan Browne's goal early in the second half lifted Carnegie Mellon University to a 1-0 win over the University of Chicago men's soccer team in University Athletic Association action Saturday at Stagg Field.
Browne scored unassisted at the 52:38 mark as the Tartans (7-2-0 overall, 1-0-0 UAA) defeated Chicago (5-3-1, 0-1-0) for the first time since 2002.
Matthew Bazin turned aside four Chicago shots en route to the shutout.
Senior netminder Keith Crum (Holland, Pa./ Council Rock South) collected three saves in a losing effort for the Maroons, who saw their four-game winning streak come to an end.
