Chicago Falls to Ohio Dominican
DELAWARE, Ohio -- Shan Wade scored in the second minute and Eddie Hertsenberg collected a goal and an assist as Ohio Dominican University defeated the University of Chicago men's soccer team 3-0 in the second round of the adidas Invitational Saturday at Ohio Wesleyan University.
Wade scored just 1:42 into the contest after taking a feed from Peter Fink in the Chicago box.
Hertsenberg gave ODU a 2-0 lead with a shot into the left corner at 13:54. He then set up Mike Rossman's goal at the 63:04 mark.
Ohio Dominican (4-2) outshot the Maroons (1-2-1) by an 18-8 margin, including an 11-3 edge in the second half. ODU netminder Evan McLeod made two saves en route to the shutout.
Following the match, junior midfielder Stuart Phelps (Helena, Mont./ Capital) and sophomore forward Eric Floyd (McMurray, Pa./ Peters) were selected to represent Chicago on the all-tournament team.
