Maroons Tie Rochester 1-1
ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- The University of Chicago and the 24th-ranked University of Rochester battled to a 1-1 double overtime deadlock in University Athletic Association men's soccer action Friday night at Fauver Stadium.
Chicago (7-3-2 overall, 1-1-1 UAA) led 1-0 at halftime courtesy of junior forward Andrew Hamilton's (Springfield, Ill./ Sacred Heart-Griffin) team-leading fourth goal of the season at the 14:00 mark.
Hamilton took a feed from freshman forward Edgar Friloux (Madison, Wis./ West) and fired a shot from 12 yards out the got past Rochester (6-3-2, 1-1-1) netminder Paco Corbalan.
Rochester evened the score when Tyler Green converted a penalty kick at 57:56.
Corbalan made five saves for Rochester, as did Chicago senior netminder Keith Crum (Holland, Pa./ Council Rock South). Crum played the game's first 96:31 before leaving the game with an injury.
Sophomore Micah Gruber (Rockville Centre, N.Y./ South Side) played the final 13:29 and was not faced with a save opportunity.
Rochester outshot the Maroons 14-11, including a 4-2 edge in the two overtime periods.
