Maroons Split at Carthage Triangular
KENOSHA, Wis. -- The 22nd-ranked University of Chicago men's swimming & diving team split a pair of dual meets Saturday at 21st-ranked Carthage College, falling to the host Red Men 151-109 and defeating #20 Wheaton (Ill.) College 131-127.
Three Maroons posted first-place performances on the day.
Senior James Viccaro (Riverside, Ill./ Riverside-Brookfield) took top honors in the 100-yard freestyle (49.11), while sophomore Shane Carlson (Houston, Texas/ Memorial) led the way in the 500-yard freestyle (4:45.59).
In the 100-yard butterfly, sophomore Alex Stabell (Godfrey, Ill./ Alton) recorded a winning time of 52.92 seconds.
The Maroons now stand at 6-1 in dual meet competition.
