November 18, 2006 CHICAGO -- The University of Chicago men's swimming & diving team improved to 5-0 in dual meet competition as it defeated Grinnell College and Lake Forest College Saturday at the Myers-McLoraine Pool in the Ratner Athletics Center. The Maroons defeated Grinnell 166-124 and bested Lake Forest 174-94. Seven Chicago swimmers posted first-place finishes, including three multiple event winners: senior James Viccaro (Riverside, Ill./ Riverside-Brookfield) in the 50- and 100-yard freestyle (22.07, 48.81), junior Zach Ergish (Moreno Valley, Calif./ Valley View) in the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke (1:01.59, 2:14.82), freshman Brian Young (Douglassville, Pa./ St. Pius) in the 100- and 200-yard backstroke (54.87, 2:02.82). |
