Maroons Fall to UW-Oshkosh in Season Opener
CHICAGO -- The University of Chicago men's indoor track & field team opened its 2007 campaign with a 95.5-59.5 loss to the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh in dual meet competition Saturday at the Henry Crown Field House.
Four Maroons -- senior Brian Hague (Chicago, Ill./ Brother Rice), junior Zach Rodgers (Nashville, Tenn./ University School), sophomore John Eric Humphries (Eagle River, Alaska/ Chugiak), and freshman Bill Cheng (Island Lake, Ill./ Wauconda) -- posted first-place finishes on the day.
In track events, Hague took top honors in the mile run (4:23.55), Humphries won the 400-meter dash (52.15), and Cheng led the way in the 55-meter dash (6.59).
Rodgers claimed the Maroons' lone victory in field events with a 6.26-meter leap in the long jump.
