Brandon Woodhead Named UAA Player of the Week

CHICAGO -- University of Chicago senior Brandon Woodhead (Lincoln, Neb./ East) has been named the University Athletic Association Athlete of the Week for men's basketball, the conference announced today.

Woodhead averaged 19.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 2.5 assists as Chicago split a pair of non-conference games a week ago. 

He collected 26 points, five boards, and four assists in a 70-67 loss to Coe College on Dec. 29 before finishing with a team-high 13 points in a 76-51 win over Cornell (Iowa) College the following day.  In the two games, Woodhead shot 57% from the field (16-for-28) and 80% from the foul line (80%), while committing just one turnover in 57 minutes.

Woodhead garnered his first career UAA Athlete of the Week citation.
