Ryan Verissimo Named UAA Special Teams Player of the Week

CHICAGO -- University of Chicago freshman kicker Ryan Verissimo (Skokie, Ill./ Niles West) has been named the University Athletic Association Athlete of the Week for football (special teams), the conference announced today.

In Chicago's 28-20 win over Northwestern (Minn.) College at Stagg Field, Verissimo was 4-for-4 on extra-point attempts -- including a 35-yard effort -- in addition to posting a 26.0 net average on six punts into 20-plus mile per hour winds.

Verissimo's final extra point, which gave the Maroons their eight-point margin of victory, came following a 15-yard penalty.
