Three Maroons Net UAA Athlete of the Week Honors

CHICAGO -- University of Chicago senior men's cross country athlete Brian Hague (Chicago, Ill./ Brother Rice), senior football player Matt Rinklin (New York, N.Y./ Fordham Prep), and freshman wrestler L.T. Switzer (Omaha, Neb./ Creighton Prep) have been named the University Athletic Association Athlete of the Week in their respective sports, the conference announced today.

Hague was selected to participate in the 2006 NCAA Division III Men's Cross Country Championship as a result of his performance at Saturday's (Nov. 11) Midwest Regional. Hague, who earned his second UAA Athlete of the Week award this season, finished ninth with a time of 25:02 en route to garnering All-Midwest Region honors.

Rinklin passed for two touchdowns and ran for two others as the Maroons concluded their season with a 44-12 win at Eureka College this past Saturday. He was recognized by the UAA for the second time this year and the third time during his career.

Switzer began his collegiate career by winning two of three bouts at the Northwestern University Duals on Sunday. Competing at 149 pounds, he pinned his Northwestern opponent and notched a 4-3 decision over his opponent from Cornell (Iowa) College.
