Nofi Mojidi Named UAA Athlete of the Week

CHICAGO -- University of Chicago junior Nofi Mojidi (Silver Spring, Md./ Bullis School) has been named the University Athletic Association Athlete of the Week for women's basketball, the conference announced today.

Mojidi averaged 22.0 points, 5.5 steals, and 3.5 rebounds as the Maroons won a pair of games on the road.

She scored 18 points and collected three steals in a 70-58 win at St. Norbert College on Nov. 25 before tallying 26 points and eight thefts in an 82-72 victory over previously undefeated University of Wisconsin-Whitewater the next day. In the two games, Mojidi shot 60% from the field (15-of-25) and 43% from three-point distance (3-of-7).

Mojidi received her third career UAA Athlete of the Week award and her first-ever in basketball. She has been recognized in outdoor track & field on two occasions.
