Chicago Places Three on All-UAA Team;
Molly Hackney Named Rookie of the Year

CHICAGO -- Three members of the University of Chicago women's basketball team have been selected to the 2007 All-University Athletic Association Team, the conference announced today.

Senior Korry Schwanz (Menominee, Mich./ Menominee) and junior Nofi Mojidi (Silver Spring, Md./ Bullis School) earned All-UAA first team accolades, while freshman Molly Hackney (East Lansing, Mich./ Lansing Catholic) was named the Association's Rookie of the Year.

The leading free throw shooter in the NCAA Division III (93.2%) during the regular season, Schwanz ranked sixth in UAA in scoring (12.5 ppg) and three-point field goals (1.44 per game). A four-time All-UAA selection, Schwanz scored in double digits in 12 of 14 league games.

A repeat All-UAA first team honoree, Mojidi was the Association's scoring leader during the regular season with 16.4 points per contest. The UAA player of the week on November 28, Mojidi ranked third in the UAA in steals (2.52 per game) and fifth in field goal percentage (49.5%).

An All-Association honorable mention pick, Hackney led all UAA newcomers in scoring (9.3 ppg), rebounding (6.2 rpg), blocked shots (1.72 per game), and field goal percentage (43.6%). Her 43 blocks marked the most by a Chicago player since the 1997-98 campaign. Hackney becomes the third Chicago player to earn UAA Rookie of the Year accolades in the past five years.

Chicago posted an 18-7 overall record in 2006-07 and finished fifth in the UAA with a 7-7 mark. The Maroons' 18 victories were their most since 1994-95.
