Chicago Earns NCAA Division III At-Large Berth
CHICAGO -- The University of Chicago women's cross country team has earned an at-large bid to the 2006 NCAA Division III Championship to be held Saturday, November 18 in West Chester, Ohio.
Chicago is one of five teams to represent the Midwest Region. North Central College and Washington (Mo.) University received automatic berths, while the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse joined Chicago as at-large selections.
Chicago makes its fifth appearance at the NCAA Division III Championship, having previously qualified in 1993, 1998, 2000, and 2003. The Maroons' best national finish to date was a sixth-place showing in 1998.
Wilmington College will host the national championship meet at Voice of America Park. The race is set to begin at noon Eastern time following the completion of the men's meet.
