Chicago Falls at Wabash

CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. -- The University of Chicago wrestling team won five of eight contested bouts, but dropped a 25-16 dual match decision Wednesday night at Wabash College.

Seniors Phil Kruzel (Elmhurst, Ill./ Fenwick) and Mike Bishof (Oak Brook, Ill./ York) opened the match with wins at 165 and 174 pounds, respectively. Three bouts later, sophomore heavyweight Tom Nero (Carlisle, Ind./ Sullivan) won to give the Maroons a 10-9 lead halfway through the contest.

Sophomore 133-pounder Ben Hart (Wood Dale, Ill./ Fenton) and freshman 157-pounder Troy Carlson (Cary, Ill./ Cary Grove) won their bouts, but the Maroons forfeited at 125 and 141 en route to their second straight dual match loss.

Chicago fell to 2-4, while Wabash won its first dual of the year.
