Maroons Fall to #24 Wisconsin-Whitewater
CHICAGO -- In its 2006-07 home opener, the University of Chicago wrestling team dropped a 34-9 decision to the 24th-ranked University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in dual match action Tuesday night at the Ratner Athletics Center.
Senior 165-pounder Phil Kruzel (Elmhurst, Ill./ Fenwick), sophomore heavyweight Tom Nero (Carlisle, Ind./ Sullivan), and freshman 157-pounder Troy Carlson (Cary, Ill./ Cary Grove) each won by decision.
Kruzel improved his season record to 9-1, while Nero and Carlson moved to 9-2 and 10-3, respectively.
Chicago fell to 2-3 in dual match competition, while Wisconsin-Whitewater improved to 2-0.
