Maroons Defeat Brandeis for 17th Straight Home Win
CHICAGO -- Junior forward Christine Farmer (Pine City, N.Y./ Elmira Notre Dame) scored both goals as the University of Chicago women's soccer team defeated Brandeis University 2-0 in University Athletic Association action Sunday at Stagg Field.
The victory extended the Maroons' (12-4-1 overall, 4-2-0 UAA) home unbeaten streak to 32 matches (29-0-3) and their home winning streak to 17 games.
Farmer scored her first goal at the 22:56 mark and her second of the day at 67:58. She now has 14 goals on the season, which matches the fifth-highest season output in school history. Farmer also notched her sixth multiple-goal performance of the year.
Junior goalkeeper Amanda Sutter (Irvine, Calif./ University) stopped two shots en route to her second shutout of the campaign.
Chicago outshot Brandeis (8-5-3, 1-2-3) by a 17-4 margin.
