Maroons Fall to #4 Calvin

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Natalie Veurink scored late in the first half as fourth-ranked and undefeated Calvin College defeated the visiting University of Chicago women's soccer team 1-0 on Thursday afternoon.

Veurink scored her fifth goal of the year off a feed from Emily Ottenhoff at the 37:26 mark for the only scoring of the contest.

Both teams used two goalkeepers. Alyssa Bergsma and Kayla Sulzer combined to make three saves for Calvin (15-0-0).

Junior Amanda Sutter (Irvine, Calif./ University) collected a pair of saves in the first half, before sophomore Polly Cline (Traverse City, Mich./ Central) stopped three shots in the final 45 minutes.

Chicago (9-4-1), which fell for the third time in four outings, outshot the host Knights 10-8.
