Maroons Win UAA Opener, Extend Home Undefeated Streak to 28

CHICAGO -- Sophomore midfielder Siggy Nachtergaele (Davis, Calif./ Davis) scored the only goal of the match as the University of Chicago women's soccer team defeated Carnegie Mellon University 1-0 in University Athletic Association play Saturday at Stagg Field.

The win extended Chicago's (7-1-1 overall, 1-0-0 UAA) home field unbeaten streak to 28 matches (25-0-3) and its home winning streak to 13 games.

Nachtergaele scored her first goal of the season at the 7:40 mark. The goal marked the fourth game-winner of her career.

Sophomore Polly Cline (Traverse City, Mich./ Central) and junior Amanda Sutter (Irvine, Calif./ University) combined on the shutout. Cline made one save in the first half, before Sutter stopped one shot in the second period.

Christie Adams collected a pair of saves in goal for the Tartans (4-4-1, 0-1-0).
