Chicago Extends Home Unbeaten Streak with 1-0 Win Over IWU
CHICAGO -- Sophomore midfielder Olivia Ndyabagye (Albuquerque, N.M./ Sandia) scored the only goal of the match in the 10th minute as the 16th-ranked University of Chicago women's soccer team defeated Illinois Wesleyan University 1-0 in non-conference play Saturday at Stagg Field.
The victory extended Chicago's home field unbeaten streak to 25 matches (22-0-3), including a 2-0 mark this season.
Ndyabagye scored off an assist from junior defender Amanda Catalano (Whitinsville, Mass./ Northbridge) at the 9:44 mark for the game's only tally. Catalano's assist was her second of the campaign -- both on game-winning goals.
Sophomore netminder Polly Cline (Traverse City, Mich./ Central) stopped two shots en route to her third straight shutout and fourth in five starts. She now sports a 0.38 goals against average on the season.
Chicago (4-0-1), which won its third consecutive match, held a 9-8 advantage in shots.
