Maroons Win 14th Straight at Home
CHICAGO -- Senior forward Jordan Pouliot (Manchester, N.H./ Trinity) and senior midfielder Maya Pratt (Des Moines, Iowa/ West Des Moines Valley) scored 2:03 apart early in the second half as the 14th-ranked University of Chicago women's soccer team defeated Lake Forest College 2-0 Tuesday at Stagg Field.
Pouliot collected a rebound of her own shot and fired it past Lake Forest netminder Kristyne Operzedek for her first goal of the season at the 55:42 mark. Operzedek had 10 saves in the match.
Pratt tallied her second goal of the year at 57:45 following a scramble in front of the net after a Chicago corner kick. The Maroons (8-1-1) attempted 15 corners on the day to just three for Lake Forest (5-4).
The win marked Chicago's 14th straight at Stagg Field and extended the Maroons' home field undefeated streak to 29 matches (26-0-3).
Chicago outshot Lake Forest 29-2, including a 16-0 margin in the second half.
Junior goalkeeper Amanda Sutter (Irvine, Calif./ University) notched the shutout in her first start of the season.
