CHICAGO -- Junior forward Christine Farmer (Pine City, N.Y./ Elmira Notre Dame) scored a pair of goals to lead the 18th-ranked University of Chicago women's soccer team to a 4-0 non-conference win over the University of LaVerne Saturday at Stagg Field.
The victory extended Chicago's home field unbeaten streak to 24 matches (21-0-3).
Senior midfielder Marianna Kerppola (Ann Arbor, Mich./ Greenhills) gave Chicago (2-0-1) the only goal it would need when she notched her first of the year at the 28:37 mark. Junior defender Amanda Catalano (Whitinsville, Mass./ Northbridge) picked up the assist on the corner kick.
Farmer tallied her first of the day at 34:09 off an assist from freshman midfielder Molly Costich (Wilton, Conn./ Wilton).
