Maroons Fall 4-1 at Wheaton
WHEATON, Ill. -- Four different players scored as Wheaton (Ill.) College defeated the University of Chicago women's soccer team 4-1 Tuesday night at East McCully Field.
Chicago (6-1-1) took a 1-0 lead just 1:33 into the contest when sophomore midfielder Olivia Ndyabagye (Albuquerque, N.M./ Sandia) took a cross from junior forward Christine Farmer (Pine City, N.Y./ Elmira Notre Dame) and fired it into the top left corner for her second goal of the year.
Wheaton (7-2) tied the game at 8:09 on a goal by Kira Davis and took the lead for good when Libby Passiales tallied at the 37:36 mark.
The Thunder, ranked 18th in the NCAA Division III by D3kicks.com, outshot #8 Chicago 11-2 in the first half and 19-4 for the match.
The score remained 2-1 until the 84th minute when Keren Jezequel scored to put the Thunder up 3-1. Taryne Lee capped the scoring in the game's final minute.
The loss ended the Maroons' 17-game regular season undefeated streak (15-0-2).
