Chicago Falls to #14 DePauw

CHICAGO -- The University of Chicago women's swimming & diving team dropped a 160-136 dual meet decision to 14th-ranked DePauw University Saturday at the Myers-McLoraine Pool.

Senior Ashley Bourne (Sudbury, Mass./ Lexington) set a school record and won both diving events (6 dives) on the day. She established a Chicago standard in the 1-meter competition with a 202.80 mark and took top honors in the 3-meter event (192.10).

Sophomore Sarah Laws (Eagleville, Pa./ Methacton) and freshman Cassie O'Neill (Roseburg, Ore./ Roseburg) each won a pair of events. Laws swept the 50- and 100-yard freestyle (25.80, 55.89), while O'Neill led the way in the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke (1:10.68, 2:30.05).

Junior Ellie McNeil (Chicago, Ill./ Lincoln Park) and freshman Jeannette Daly (Pittsburgh, Pa./ Baldwin) also notched first-place performances, McNeil in the 1,000-yard freestyle (11:32.62) and Daly in the 500-yard freestyle (5:26.39).
