Chicago Falls to Dominican

SCHAUMBURG, Ill. -- The University of Chicago baseball team took an early 3-0 lead but Dominican University scored in every inning after the third en route to a 12-7 win over the Maroons Friday at Alexian Field.

Chicago (6-7) took advantage of four walks to produce three runs in the top of the second inning.

Dominican answered with four runs in the bottom of the third, single runs in the fifth, sixth, and seventh, and five in the eighth.

Chicago mounted a four-run rally in the top of the ninth, capped by a three-run double of the bat of senior left fielder Mike Morgan (Chicago, Ill./ Northridge Prep). Morgan finished the day 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles and four RBIs.

Daniel Hunoway (3-4) earned the win for Dominican (9-15) with six innings of scoreless relief. Senior left-hander Nate Ginsberg (Dobbs Ferry, N.Y./ Dobbs Ferry) fell to 1-2 after yielding 11 hits and eight earned runs over seven frames.

Keith Halverson led the Stars' attack, going 3-for-4 with three RBIs.
