Justin Kaderabek Named UAA Co-Rookie of the Year;
Six Maroons Selected to 1st and 2nd Teams

CHICAGO -- University of Chicago freshman defensive lineman Justin Kaderabek (Caledonia, Ill./ Boylan Catholic) has been named the University Athletic Association co-Rookie of the Year as the conference today announced its 2007 All-Association Football Team.

Kaderabek ranked 18th in sacks (1.0 per game) and 25th in tackles-for-loss (1.8) among all NCAA Division III players during the regular season. He was the only freshman in Division III to stand among the nation's top 50 in either category.

Sharing UAA Rookie of the Year honors with Case Western Reserve University wide receiver Shaun Nicely and Washington (Mo.) University running back Jim O'Brien, Kaderabek collected 9.0 sacks and 16.5 tackles-for-loss in nine contests.

Kaderabek joined senior wideout Mike Albian (Darien, Ill./ Montini) and sophomore cornerback Chris Leamy (Glen Ellyn, Ill./ Glenbard South) on the All-Association First Team.

A three-time All-UAA First Team honoree, Albian led the Maroons with 46 receptions for 609 yards, including 16 catches for 197 yards in three UAA games. He finished his career among the school's modern era (since 1969) receiving leaders in touchdowns (15 - 2nd), catches (132 - 3rd), and yards (1,721 - 6th).

Leamy, who received All-Association Second Team recognition a year ago, ranked 13th among Division III interceptions leaders with 0.7 per game. He picked off six passes in nine games, including at least one in each of the team's first four affairs.

Three Maroons garnered All-UAA Second Team status: senior linebacker Tony Insalaco (Mokena, Ill./ Lincoln-Way East), sophomore tackle Bryan Dedeker (Cincinnati, Ohio/ Turpin), and freshman wide receiver Clay Wolff (St. Louis, Mo./ Christian Brothers).

Insalaco was the team's third-leading tackler with 46 stops. He received All-UAA honorable mention accolades in 2005 and 2006.

In his first full season as the starting left tackle, Dedeker helped pave the way for a Chicago rushing attack that averaged 185 yards per game and 4.8 yards per carry.

Wolff led the club with five receiving touchdowns and ranked second on the team with 39 catches for 432 yards. He also rushed for a pair of touchdowns.

Four players received honorable mention selection: senior linebacker Gaby Fernandez (Miami, Fla./ Columbus), senior left guard Matt Siedlecki (Perrysburg, Ohio/ Toledo Central Catholic), junior right guard Patrick Davis (Loveland, Ohio/ Loveland), and sophomore tight end Michael Emerson (Okemos, Mich./ Okemos).

Chicago posted a 4-5 overall record, including an 0-3 mark in UAA play.
