CHICAGO -- For the 11th consecutive year, the University of Chicago men's and women's basketball teams will host the Midway Classic Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 17-18 at the Ratner Athletics Center. As it has since the tournament's inception in 1997, Hyde Park Bank will sponsor the event.

Women's competition begins Saturday at 2 p.m. when Baruch College (21-9 in 2006-07) faces Whitworth University (14-11). Chicago (18-7) then meets Concordia (Minn.) College (18-9) at 4 p.m.

In the first men's semifinal Saturday at 6 p.m., Chicago (20-6) entertains Lake Forest College (15-10). At 8 p.m., Ohio Wesleyan University (18-10) takes on Trinity (Texas) University (16-12).

Among the promotional events slated for Saturday are a pizza giveaway for University of Chicago students and a raffle featuring a Nintendo Wii as the grand prize.

Sunday's schedule includes the women's and men's consolation games at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., respectively, followed by the women's championship game at 3 p.m. and the men's title contest at 5 p.m.
