Nate Hainje Named to The Sporting News
Preseason All-America Team
CHICAGO -- University of Chicago senior men's basketball player Nate Hainje (Brownsburg, Ind./ Brownsburg) has been selected to The Sporting News preseason All-America Team for NCAA Division III.
A first-team All-University Athletic Association pick and third-team D3hoops.com All-Midwest Region honoree in 2006-07, Hainje averaged 13.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game.
Hainje shot 47.1% from the field, including a 38.7% clip (48-of-124) from three-point range, and connected on 71.8% of his free throw attempts. He scored double digits in 21 of 26 games and grabbed 10 or more boards three times.
Following an exhibition game at Northwestern University on Nov. 7, Chicago opens its 2007-08 campaign at home on Saturday, Nov. 17 against Lake Forest College in the opening round of the Midway Classic.
Last season, the Maroons (20-6) shared the UAA title and received an at-large berth to the NCAA Division III tournament.
