Corning netted 10 of his 15 points in the first period, while sophomore guard John Bonelli (San Francisco, Calif./ St. Ignatius) tallied all nine of his points on three 3-point field goals.

A 10-0 run brought NYU (10-6, 1-4) to within 10 points (41-31) with 12:49 to go, but the Violets would get no closer.

Corning connected on six of 10 attempts from the field en route to his 14th double-digit effort of the year.
