CHICAGO -- Boasting a five-game winning streak and a share of first place in the University Athletic Association, the University of Chicago men's basketball team was ranked 23rd in this week's NCAA Division III poll conducted by D3hoops.com.

Making their first appearance in the national rankings this season, the Maroons (17-7 overall, 10-3 UAA) will entertain seventh-ranked Washington (Mo.) University (19-5, 10-3) at the Ratner Athletics Center on Saturday, Mar. 1 in a game that will determine the UAA championship and an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III tournament. Game time is set for 3 p.m.

Chicago, which owns a 10-2 mark (5-1 UAA) at home this season, is seeking its fourth NCAA tournament appearance in nine years under Head Coach Mike McGrath and second in as many years.
