Sept. 22, 2007 LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- Led by junior Dan Gardner (Keene, N.H./ Keene), the University of Chicago men's cross country team took top honors at the 12-team Forester Invitational Saturday at Lake Forest College. Gardner clocked a time of 26:55 on the eight-kilometer course to place seventh among 123 runners. Sophomore Alex Garbier (Watertown, Mass./ Watertown) and freshman Andrew Wells-Qu (Bethlehem, Conn./ Holy Cross) finished 10th and 11th with respective times of 27:16 and 27:17. Dan Oh of the Illinois Institute of Technology took top individual honors with a time of 25:33. With 50 points, Chicago edged runner-up Illinois Tech (52 points) for the team title. |
