Maroons Place 8th at UAA Championship
BOSTON -- Senior Ryan McCarl (Muskegon, Mich./ Mona Shores) earned All-University Athletic Association First Team honors as the University of Chicago men's cross country team finished eighth at the 2007 UAA Championship at Franklin Park.
McCarl placed seventh among 78 competitors with a time of 25:30 on the eight-kilometer course.
Sophomore Adam Kaye (Brookline, Mass./ Brookline) and junior Chris Peverada (Hampden, Maine / Hampden) finished 37th and 40th with respective times of 26:32 and 26:37.
New York University boasted five of the top eight overall finishers -- including the first three -- en route to capturing the team title. The Violets' Ryan Williams took top individual honors with a time of 25:02.
NYU totaled 20 points, 48 better than runner-up Carnegie Mellon University. Chicago collected 171 points.
